
Ukrainian Banosh with Mushrooms
A classic comfort food from Ukraine: creamy cornmeal porridge served with a rich mushroom sauce and crispy pork cracklings. Note: 1 serving = 1 bowl.

In a pot, combine milk and sour cream, heat nearly to boiling.

Gradually whisk in cornmeal, add salt and pepper. Cook on low heat 10–15 min, adding water if needed until creamy.

Fry cracklings until crispy.

For mushroom sauce: chop onion and garlic, slice mushrooms. Heat oil and butter in a pan, sauté onion and garlic 1 min, then add mushrooms. Cook 10 min until liquid evaporates.

Add cream, sour cream, water, and salt. Cook 2–3 min until creamy.

Serve banosh topped with mushroom sauce and crispy cracklings.
